History

• Turaç was established in 1987 and started to business in Çankırı Cad. Yiba Çarşısı Ulus ANKARA as a licensed distributor of M.K.E (Government owned Turkish Machinery and Chemical Industries Association) and hunting equipment seller.

• In 1989 Turaç moved to Çankırı Cad. Vakıf Iş Hanı No: 67/Z3 and in the same year started to import hunting equipments. Turaç imported equipment from firms which are well known and leader of their market. These firms are SKB Shotguns (Japan), ANTONIO ZOLI Shotguns (ITALY), FRANKONIA hunting accessories (GERMANY), MEC-GAR Magazine (ITALY), OMUR GmbH Shotgun Accessories (GERMANY). Turaç continued to be only one licensed distributor of these companies in Turkey by years.

• In 1995 Turaç has opened a new branch on Tandoğan Meydanı Meydan Apt. No: 4/15 Çankaya ANKARA. This new branch enabled Turaç to provide better services to customers. In these years two of the Germany’s biggest factories UMAREX GmbH Blank Cartridges and Blank Pistols and DYNAMIT NOBEL GmbH Blank Cartridges and Shot shells have been joined to import portfolio of Turaç.

• In 1998 Turaç has opened another new branch which is retail shop on S.S.K Iş Hanı Kızılay ANKARA. This was the biggest hunting, fishing and camping equipment shop in the Turkey. MİTCHELL (fishing tackles- FRANCE), SHIRSTONE (binoculars- JAPAN), TASCO (binoculars - A.B.D.), FRONT-LINE (holster- ISRAEL), GALCO (holster- FRANCE) were added as new brands in our portfolio. Due to the big demand from retail shops Turac composed a distribution fleet of 2 trucks, to deliver all items to retail shops in Turkey in 1999.

• In 2000, after a year experience, all retail shops have been closed. Activities oriented mostly to marketing and whole selling rather than Retail.

• In 2002 – 2003 marketing fleet has been expanded to 4 trucks. In the meantime, Turaç started to distribute shot shells which can be called cornerstone of hunting market. Then, YAVUZCAN (M.K.E.), VEGAS (CYPRUS), ROTTWEIL (GERMANY), SAGA-STERLING (SPAIN) also added to inventory.

• In 2004 -2005 accessories for hunting, fireworks and camping equipment have been imported from China and Europe while having distribution rights from Turkish Companies, ÜÇYILDIZ SİLAH SAN. TİC. LTD ŞTİ. (Blank Pistols) and YAVAŞÇALAR A.Ş. (Shot shells and Blank Cartridges).

• In 2005 – 2006 VOLTRAN SİLAH SAN. TİC. LTD. ŞTİ. (Blank Pistols) which is one the biggest blank pistols manufacturer in Turkey, has been added to our inventory and increased product variation 174 more. Also has been imported Turkey’s first Blank cartridges that expose 450 Bar pressure from NEW VICTORY SPORT (BOSNIA and HERZEGOVINA). WALTER brand binoculars, swords and axes started to import as additional to hunting and pocket knives. Camping and hunting accessories like flash and head lights, tents, sleeping bags, stoves, many kinds of hunting knives and fishing tackles has been introduced to customers. 25 kinds BB GUNS for paintball, 50 kinds confetties,18 kinds pictures and 20 kinds trinkets that contain hunting and hunter figures, also introduced.

• Turaç, followed advancement of amateur fishing step by step in Turkey for years, and than it started to serve to fishers with DISCOVERY premium quality fishing tackles. 90 kinds fishing rods, 40 kinds fishing reels, 180 kinds fishing lines, 750 kinds fishing lures, 10 kind camping tents and 12 kinds camping stool has been presented to pleased of hunters and campers.

• In 2007 – 2008, Turaç has been started to sell hunting guns again after 10 years break with to be main distributor of domestic manufacturers SAFİR ARMS and SARSILMAZ.

• In fishing tackle business Turaç cooperate with one of the most prestige and luxury brands group in Europe. These brands are BOWNING, QUANTUM, RHINO, ZEBCO from Germany. GAMAKATSU, the best quality fishing hooks of the world has been introduced and SPRO, the best fishing tackle brand of Europe from Holland has been started to import.

• WATERSNAKE first quality electrical boat motors from Australia Jarvis Marine Company are presented for maximum customer satisfaction.

• Turaç go in to the free-diving market with Turkey’s most popular brand NEMROD spread guns, flippers, and diving equipment. Turaç support its own place in free-diving market with WATERSNAKE (Jarvis Marine) and RHINO electrical boat motors, GLEN-SUN boats.

• In 2009 Turaç has finished construction of explosive depots and production facilities Çankırı / Şabanözü which started 2006. This is the biggest explosive depots and production facilities of Turkey with 450.000 square meters land, 10 separate buildings and 7000 square meters covert area. This investment is the proof of attach importance to national economy and employment.
